Life Amidst the Tragedy

I don't know how well you can see this but these are lillies popping through the dried mud. A sign of hope that things will return. I've also seen some frogs in amongst the mud and trash. Having worked extensively with snakes back in the 70s at old Indianapolis Zoo, I kind of expected to see some snakes here and there in all the dark, wet trash. So far we've seen no signs of snakes. I guess this environment is so bad even snakes won't stay around. The only prevalent life formis the southern cockroach or palm bug. They are relatively numerous and very large. They say that the cockroach may be the ony creature which could survive a nuclear blast. After what I've seen here, I'm starting to believe it.
